平野一郎(ひらの・いちろう)略歴

1974年京都府宮津市出身。95年吹田音楽コンクール作曲部門第2位(最上位)。96年より各地の祭礼と音楽を巡る踏査を始動。97年京都市立芸術大学卒業。99年ブレーメン芸術大学に派遣留学。2000年京都芸大大学院(修士課程)修了。01年より作曲活動を本格開始、京都を拠点に日本の風土や伝承に根差した独自の作品を発表。02京都市音楽芸術文化振興財団“小倉理三郎音楽奨学金”を受ける05年「かぎろひの島」(Orch)で日本交響楽振興財団作曲賞最上位入選・日本財団特別奨励賞受賞。05-06年“石豊久(チェロ)&堤聡子(ピアノ)デュオコンサート”企画監修。07年作品演奏会“作曲家 平野一郎の世界 神話・伝説・祭礼…音の原風景を巡る旅〜”で第17回青山音楽賞受賞。07年度京都市芸術新人賞受賞。07年より古典と新作による演奏会シリーズ“CROSSINGPROJECT”始動。無伴奏チェロ曲「夢祀(ユメノマツリ)」で“ISCM世界音楽の日々2008ヴィリニュス大会”入選・参加。11年演奏家・美術家と〈音色工房(オンショクコウボウ)〉を結成、“女声と映像、15楽器によるモノオペラ「邪宗門」〜南蛮憧憬(オクシデンタリズム)の彼岸へ〜”を作曲・初演。12年ギャラリーリサイタル“花影の小径 〜堤聡子(ピアノ)&才村昌子(銅版画)の世界〜”企画監修。13年歌曲「海の幸/天平の面影」で第30回現音作曲新人賞にて富樫賞・聴衆賞受賞。細川忠興公・ガラシャ夫人生誕450年記念演奏会“祈りのガラシャ”監修。その他10年「八幡縁起ハチマンエンギ(Orch/京都府八幡市)、「鱗宮イロコノミヤ交響曲」(Orch/芦屋交響楽団)11年「いそぽのふゎぶらす」(狂言+WQ/ザ・フェニックスホール)、「精霊の海」(Vn+Pf/舘野泉・左手の文庫)、12年「微笑ノ樹ほほえみのき」(Pf/同前)、14年二重協奏曲「星巡ノ夜ほしめぐりのよる」(Vn+Pf+Orch/同前)等、委嘱作品を多数手掛ける。

HIRANO Ichirô (Composer) : Short Biography

Ichirô HIRANO was born in the city of Miyazu (Kyôto prefecture) in 1974. At the age of 21 he won second prize for Composition in the 6th Suita Music Competition in Ôsaka. In 1996, he started to research the folkloric music of Japan. Until 1997, He studied composition at the Kyôto University of Arts (KCUA). In 1999, he studied at the University of Arts, Bremen (Germany). He completed his formal studies in 2000, when he obtained his Master's degree from KCUA. Since 2001, he has been drawing compositional inspiration from the spiritual climate and legends of Japan. In 2002, he was the recipient of the Ogura Risaburô Music Scholarship. His orchestral work, "KAGIROHI NO SHIMA (Isle of Dawn)", was selected in 2005 for the 27th Japan Symphony Foundation Award for the Most Excellent Music Composition, as well as for the Nippon Foundation Special Award for the Best Music Composition. Two years later he won the Kyôto City Newcomers' Award in Arts, and won the 17th Aoyama Music Award for the concert "The Music World of Ichirô HIRANO " in Kyôto. The same year (2007) he started the "CROSSING PROJECT", a series of concerts mixing classical and new music. The following year his work, "YUME NO MATSURI (Ritual of Dreams)", written for unaccompanied cello, was selected for the "ISCM World Music Days 2008" in Vilnius (Lithuania). In 2011, he founded the art group "ONSHOKU KÔBÔ" with musicians and artists, resulting in his first mono-opera, "JASHÛMON", for solo female voice, visuals and 15 instruments, being premiered. In 2012 he was the producer of the Gallery Recital "HANAKAGE NO KOMICHI (Path of Shadow of Flowers)", which took place in Miyazu and Kakogawa. In 2013, he won the Togashi Prize and the Audience Award from the Japan Society for Contemporary Music. The same year he oversaw the memorial concert "INORI NO GARASHA (Prayer for Gracia)" on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the birth of Gracia, a dramatic female figure from Japan's tumultuous Tenshô era. Since 2010, he has composed many commissioned works. These have included, among others, "HACHIMAN-ENGI" and "IROKONOMIYA-SYMPHONY" for large orchestra (2010); "ESOPO NO FABVLAS (Aesop's Fables)" for woodwind quintet and Kyôgen actor, created at the Phoenix Hall in Ôsaka (2011); "SEIREI NO UMI (The Sea of the Returning Ghosts)" for violin and piano (left hand) (2011); "HOHOEMI NO KI (Smiling Tree)" for solo piano (left hand) (2012); Double Concerto "HOSHIMEGURI NO YORU (Night on the Galactic Journey)" for violin, piano (left hand) and orchestra (2014).
